10 minute plank workout for flat abs and a strong core

This 10 minute plank workout is the best way to tone your abs and strengthen your core. The routine consists of three variations of plank exercise:

  1. Standard plank
  2. Walk outs
  3. Knee tucks

These three exercises should be completed three times for a full set.

For an added challenge you can use an optional foam roller. A roller will force your muscles to tense and work harder.

Workout breakdown

I recommend that you start with the Standard Plank, then move onto the Walk Outs, and finish with the Knee Drives.

  1. 15 seconds standard plank hold
  2. 15 leg walkouts
  3. 15 knee drives
  4. Repeat 3 times

How do plank exercises help?

These three plank workouts will help get your abs flat and build muscle. They each target your core in different ways to increase overall stability and strength.

Standard plank: this may seem like a basic exercise, but it engages all your core muscles, including abs and obliques, which work together to help support your spine and pelvis.

Plank with walk outs: this engages the muscles in your core, back, and lower body. It also works your shoulders for additional upper body strengthening.

Plank with knee tucks: these work your abs, obliques, and core muscles in a more dynamic way. The exercise also engages your hip flexors.

Personal training sessions

I use a wide range of low impact workouts with my clients to help improve their core strength and define abs. All my PT sessions are tailored to your specific workout needs and fitness goals.
